Zhouzhuang -- pioneer of tourism development in ancient Towns in China
In 1983, famous painter Chen Yifei's painting "Double Bridges" introduced Zhou Zhuang to the world.
In 1988, Zhouzhuang established the first township tourism company in Jiangsu province - "Zhouzhuang Car rental tourism Service Company", seeking the development of ancient town tourism industry, and creating a pioneer of ancient town tourism in China.
April 1, 1989, Zhouzhuang sold the first scenic spot ticket.
On June 6, 2001, the APEC Trade Ministers' informal meeting was held in Zhouzhuang, which attracted the attention of the world again.
Up to now, entering zhouzhuang ancient town, between the water lane, barges, arch Bridges, white walls, black tiles, preserved completely, Wu Yun thick. Fourteen ancient stone Bridges built in the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties are well preserved on the well-shaped channel. More than 800 families of aborigines live beside the river, and more than 60% of the dwellings are still preserved in the architectural style of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Wu Nong's soft language, the aroma of tea, lu nai, Kunqu opera is far away, "small bridge running water family" like a picture scroll. Wu Guanzhong, master of Traditional Chinese painting, praised "Zhouzhuang embodies the beauty of China's water towns", and Ieoh Ming Pei, master of architecture, inscribed "Zhouzhuang is a national treasure".
